guidance on what they are doing. Most 14 year olds already know how to
get around it.

There hasn't been such a thing as good parental guidance for years
now. You have to have been born before 1950 to have received that.
This is especially since the late 60s when feminism and no fault divore destroyed the family unit along with proper child upbringing. Children usually lived with the divorced mother and she stopped being a parent
and just looked upon her children a being her best friends. Another
damaging situation is that from birth to 9, a child needs its mother,
but from 10 onward it need its father.
